We were Norway's first online store for eyeglasses and launched our first solution for buying eyeglasses online as early as 2010. Extra Optical has quickly established itself as one of Scandinavia's leading online eyewear stores. Our shop for glasses has so far been launched in five countries, with headquarters in Trondheim. Our aim is to make buying eyeglasses cheaper, easier and safer for you as a consumer. At all times, we must have the cheapest spectacles and a large assortment with frequent novelties. In many ways, we fight the consumer's battle as a disruptive, innovative actor in a market that has worked undisturbed for too many years.

Extra Optical was started as a counter-reaction to the overpriced glasses market. The concept is based on you as a customer having an eye examination at an ophthalmologist or optician, then ordering the glasses yourself online.

It is easy, safe and not least favorable in terms of price to trade glasses with us. You can look at it like this; when you go to the doctor and get a prescription, you freely choose which pharmacy you want to shop from. This is also the case with glasses, you must not buy the glasses where you check your eyesight. That is why in English they are called prescription glasses, or as they say in Sweden, prescription glasses. The prescription note is your health information and you can order the glasses from us.< /p>

The average price of glasses in the Scandinavian countries is around $300, and the vast majority of people change glasses first every third year. At Extra Optical, you can afford several pairs of glasses without breaking the bank. Our customers usually buy several pairs of glasses with an average price of less than $50. Over half of our customers buy 3-4 pairs of glasses during their first year as a customer. We have progressive glasses, reading glasses, prescription sports glasses and prescription sunglasses.

We pride ourselves on good customer service, so with us the customer has always right. Should you be unlucky with what you order, or should the glasses not fit the day, yes, we will make new glasses regardless of the reason. You also have 30 days open purchase, which gives you plenty of time to try the glasses and give your eyes the time they often need to get used to new glasses.

As mentioned, we have a large and wide range of glasses. You can choose from classic glasses, retro glasses, and more modern glasses. If you should be looking for branded glasses, we of course have that too. Ray-Ban glasses, Oakley glasses and glasses from other brands such as Carrera, Polo, Diesel and more. Extra Optical is an eyeglass shop that can offer all types of glasses, and therefore, like other eyeglass chains, we can also correct crooked corneas, prisms and other visual defects. 

Ordering prescription eyeglasses online can be challenging for some, but we have done our best in explaining to you how to proceed with the order. During the ordering process, you will find help in our menus and explanations. The first thing you should have at hand is a copy of your prescription. It is important for us to explain that when you have had an eye test at an optician, it is your right as a patient/customer (Patient Records Act) to be given a copy of the eye test. A copy of your prescription is YOUR right to have, and you can order the eyeglasses wherever you want.
